The first Teerenpeli Brewery was founded in May 1995 in Restaurant Teerenpeli in Lahti. Our beers have won Gold Medals at the Helsinki Beer Festival (The best microbrewery beer in Finland) in 2001, 2002 and silver in 2006.


The new Brewery and Distillery was opened in August 2002 in Restaurant Taivaanranta. The brewhouse is beautifully situated in the dinig room. Fermentation department and distilling equipment are in the cellar together with the visitors' center. 


The Brewery


The Brewery is capable of producing 1,700 litres per brew, with an annual capacity in the region of 200,000 litres . We now produce two ciders and ten different beers. 


The Distillery


The Distillery is the traditional pot-still distillery, and the alcohol produced will be matured in oak casks for at least three years, as required by law. However to produce malt whisky of higher quality, it is envisaged that a total maturation period of 8-20 years is more appropriate. Annual production capacity is in the region of 15,000 litres/year.


Brewery and Distillery tours


The main Brewing vessels are in the Bar area, The Fermenting process, the Whisky Distillery, and Visitors’ Centre are housed in the Cellar area below.


Special tours are available for groups by appointment. It is also possible to eat, buffet-style, in the Visitors’Centre.
